Lisa Larson was born in the South of Sweden in 1931 and went to art school in
Gothenburg 1949-54. After graduating she was invited by Stig Lindberg to come and
work at the Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory for a year. Her products became a huge
success for the company and she ended up staying for 16 years. In 1980, she left to
work independently as a freelance designer and sculptural artist, from her own
studios in Nacka and in rural Skåne.
Among her clients in the 1980s were Rosenthal, KF, Duka, Höganäs, Jie Keramik
and Krona and Skrufs glass factories. In the 90-00’s she worked mostly with unique
sculptures which she often exhibited together with her artist husband Gunnar Larson.
Since 2008 Lisa Larson has enjoyed a keen interest coming from Japan, where new collaborations with ceramic workshops have been realised, as well as selected licencing collaborations with other brands, applying her humorous drawings onto
various other materials and products.
Four comprehensive exhibition tours have been organised across Japan since 2014.
In 2022, she was awarded the Swedish Royal gold medal Illis Quorum of the Twelfth
Grade.
In 2024, Lisa Larson received the Honorary Award from Elle Deco.
